1. give your location. baka meron tayong kapatid na malapit sayo na pwede kang tulungan.
2. yung frame na kukunin mo dapat kahit papano ok yung geometry. mataas ang BB or at least 0 level. better get a trial specific frame. 2 types yun, 26"(Stock) and 20"(Mod). May 24" din street trial kadalasang setup nun.
3. Gearing. pag regular na crank and hub 22T/19T. Pag trial specific crank and hub, Stock 18/15, Mod 18/12..
4. Long stem ang wider handlebar.
5. Strong Brake

Very Happy

Smile

mas preferred namin yung bolt on na rear hub. mas safe at stable, for rear wheel hops.

Where do you stay in Manila? There might be someone in your area.
Actually there's no trials store here in the Philippines, all deals are done underground (meaning on the net). Soon, BIKETRIALSPOT will have a descent bikeshop that have a practice ground.

RE: you querries.

For rear hub - any hub will do. But we prefer trials specific for it provides a comfort zone. But most of us have used MTB hubs. The most common are, DA BOMB, Shimano XT 09, Fireeye, JUJU, Ringle. It served us well but due to the abused done, they graduated from the trials school. But if you wanna save money and parts, use trials specific hubs.

For front hub - This will depend on your setup. If you're using disc infront, you can use any hub with disc mount. But if your gonna use rim/vbrake, it is advisable you use a V-specific hub to save weight.

For mod - you can use any descent brake, whether it's hydraulic or mechanical. You can use it for both rear and front wheel.

For stock - you might wanna choose hydraulic rim brake or a plain mechanical vbrake with a descent brake pads over a disc brake on the rear. Choosing what type of brake to use up front is not really an issue. All works fine.

Before you build a bike you must consider the budget. Building a trials bike would be heavy to the pocket. If budget is not an issue, you can easily decide on what parts you wanna use for your bike. As for us, being tight in our budget, we use almost anything that works fine.

If you use trials specific parts, it's not a guarantee that it will not break or you'll get a move in one sleep.

Decide on what you wanna build (stock or mod), guys here are willingly open for help.

If you're really interested there's no one can stop you in building one lol!

sir, kung gusto niyo talaga i-single speed yan without spending money... stick with your setup na. pero kung nabibigatan kayo sa 9 speed cassette sprocket niyo, pwedeng baklasin yan then use spacers or pvc pipe at gamitin lang yung nag iisang kelangan na cog (either 17t, 18t, 19t). sa cranks naman, pwede din bawasan yung mga chainring. ang kelangan niyo lang naman dun for trials is yung 22t. that is, kung gusto niyong bawasan ng bigat at mag cocommit sa trials. pero kung gagamitin niyo yung bike para sa ibang purpose, better stick with your setup na lang.

rear... 2.35 pwede na.
front... 2.1 to 2.35

sir, naka 26 ako Smile i just bought and replaced some parts to accomodate street trials (i.e. shorter stem, high rise bar, rear hub, fork and street tires).

as for 26 or 24 for street trials, pwede naman parehas. advantage lang ng 24 is it is much lighter, much shorter... so, mas madali ang mga 'ikot' moves. sa 26, mas mabigat ng konti at mas mahaba yung papaikutin mo. hehehe... pero iikot pa din yan Smile sanayan lang.

i have other purposes for the bike kya po naka deore po ako (9 speed). for the crank set, i just removed the outer chainring and replaced it with a bashguard kasi ang dalas ko pong malasin dun sa malaking chainring. Smile

street tires have minimum or even no knobs... kung more on rolling ka lang... best eto. pero kung aakyat ka ng wheel height na mga obstacles using pedal up... eh kelangan mo ng knobby tires.. gaya niyang kenda na nasa iyo. stick with your tire muna Smile

depende sa height mo and feel of the bike. it would be easier to do rolling moves pag maiksi yung stem. pag sa stationary moves naman, best pa din yung longer stem. yung short stem naman kapares eh highrise na bar. yung long stem naman... depende sa gusto mong layo hehehe. speaking of bars, may bar sweep pa. yan ang kelangang experimentuhan. kasi jan nakasalalay yung wrists mo. hehehe.

sa frame and fork... ok yan for starters. ako, i started with a storm xc frame size 16 at xcr na fork. pag desidido ka na mag trials... better kung mag trials frame and fork ka na para less gastos. pag nag improve ka na kasi sunod sunod na yung sira ng bike. hindi maiiwasan yan.

sir ano po ung difference ng rolling from stationary moves? pede po kayo mag bigay ng example and ano po ung bar sweep? originally po kasi road biker ako kya wla pa po ako masyadong alam sa trial terms..just started practising trials a month ago and all i can do for now are small hops, a little trackstand, and small one sided pivots.

rolling moves... zap tap, lurch, manual, pedal up, touch up, bunny hop, 180, fakie/roll back... yung mga moves na gumagalaw yung gulong habang ginagawa mo siya.

Martilo+screwdriver or sa bike tech mo pagawa. Saan ka nga banda bro?
