PostSubject: Loosing the stem lock   Wed Apr 02, 2008 9:37 pm

I've decided to loose weight and free my mind from misconceptions...

I'm testing riding without stem locks hehe

I've removed something like this:

(sossy yan amoeba lang sa akin)

In favor of this:

So bahala na hehehe

ok lang yan pat, I also had the same notion before pero dito walang gumagamit ng stem lock, maski mga DH /Freeride guys, so I removed mine and natawa sila sa brand nung stem lock ko hehehe "ameoba" kasi eh hehehehe parang food poisoning daw ang dating hehehe

kaya lang minsan as in minsan lang naman sa kaka front wheel moves dimo pansin lumuluwag yung headset... so kailangan mo ng stem lock pang "press" on the spot hehehe

@Joolz

Usually over sa tibay.

Kulturang "PMTB" examples:

1. Gumagamit ng double crown (not for the looks, you are excused if you want a DH "look") dahil sa tibay, usually prefering Jr. T's over Z1FR ish frames. Using double crown on Giant AC's again the look is excused but not excused in void of warranty nung bago pa ang frame na ito. What they don't know ay opposite nag nangyayari, imbes na matibay ang bike ay mapuputol ito sa toptube eventually.

3. Gumagamit ng DH bars for XC dahil baka ma harkor nya yung Hbars habang nag XC sa road.

4. Bibili ng Parker pang XC dahil beefed up (di dahil sa price).

... at madami pang iba hehe

I doubt may stemlock sya. Teka tatanungin ko nga sya.

....

at ang weakest link ko ay ang: XC stem, Fork (not once not once nag crack), at ofcourse my aluminum FOF HBar. ah not to mention the gay fitting of the steel steerer at the aluminum part of the fork.

Disclaimer: Basically i'm not asking anyone else to follow me, its a personal thing ha. So its at your own risk. momaru!

Pat I'm using Starnut, be sure to lubricate it lang always kasi pag tumagal nagkakaalikabok at kung nagride ka ng umuulan, maputik...kaya pag nilinis ko ang bike ko, pati ang loob ng steerer tube linis ko din

Pat:

im using starnut almost 1 year na, ok naman no problems or issues involved mostly street riding lang..i think kaya naman ng starnut ang purpose nya kun trials/street pero kun Dirtjump & DH mas ok ata yon amoeba stemlock... yon ibang dirt jumpers starnut lang din gamit..

may starnut/w hard rubber cap not alloy mas magaan ata yon?

if you notice most bmxers walang kahit anong lock sa stem Laughing

pero i still have the ameoba headlock naka tago for future use......

@Chi

Naka shimano accera ako na cranks. Incase palit ako ng cranks baka mangarap na ako ng tryalls cranks or echo CNC cranks with katay bashring yung one side lang talaga.

....

So far ay wala ako makita prob sa setup na ito lets see soon kung may maiba.

di pa rin on topic...

tama nga, ride at your own risk. kung feel mo ok lang wala yun, no problem.

depende rin kasi sa fork yun, at sa riding skills. especially on bailing out.

OT:
sana may thread din dito re bailing out.
